OurDream AI Review: Great Media, Fuzzy Privacy

OurDream AI is a browser-based 18+ roleplay and companion platform. You chat with community characters or build your own, then spend a monthly currency called dreamcoins on images, video and voice. The pitch is simple: pay once, talk as much as you want, and get a pile of media credits on top.

We rate OurDream AI 9.7 out of 10. That number is high because of the media. It drops because of the fine print. Below is what the pricing page, terms of service, privacy policy, refund policy and help center actually say, plus what independent reviewers report about chat quality.

The short verdict

If you generate a lot of images and clips, OurDream is one of the best deals in the category. The annual plan works out to $9.99 a month with unlimited messages and 1,000 dreamcoins, which is roughly 200 images or 10 short videos. Subscriber chat costs nothing per message, so there is no meter running while you type.

If you mainly want long, coherent stories with a character who remembers chapter one, look elsewhere. Memory leans on recent history. Long arcs fade. And if you cancel, your entire gallery blurs until you pay again.

Who runs it: Dream Studio USA, Inc., a Delaware corporation with a notice address in Dover, Delaware. The refund and underage policies also name Dream Studio LLC and Tektopia Ltd., which is worth knowing if you ever need to chase a payment. Founding year is not confirmed anywhere official; sources disagree.

Character builder and library

The builder is the best part of the product after the image engine. You define appearance, personality and scenario, pick realistic or anime style, and publish the result for other users if you want. Creating a chatbot costs 10 dreamcoins. That is a trivial fee, and it keeps the library from drowning in half-finished bots.

The library itself is enormous. The homepage advertises over 11 million characters. A third-party review claims more than 63 million. We cannot verify either number, and the gap between them tells you how loosely these counts are thrown around. Treat the figure as marketing, not inventory.

What is verifiable: the library is community-driven, large enough that search matters more than browsing, and includes male companions as well as female ones. Anime and realistic styles both exist. Group chats and roleplay scenarios are supported. If you like remixing other people's setups, this is a good place to do it.

Images

Image generation is where OurDream earns its score. Independent reviewers put it in the same league as Candy.ai, which is the benchmark for photoreal output in this space. The platform offers Vivid and a standard Dreamy model, plus an enhance and edit pass for 10 to 20 coins.

Costs are published in the help center, which is rarer than it should be:

  • In-chat image: 5 dreamcoins
  • Standard images: 10 dreamcoins per two images
  • Enhance or edit: 10 to 20 dreamcoins
  • Community packs: 250, 750 or 1,000 dreamcoins

At 10 coins per pair, 1,000 monthly coins buy about 200 images. That is the single best number on this page. Nobody else in the price range hands you that many generations on a $9.99 monthly equivalent.

One limit you should know before signing up: you cannot upload your own photos for the AI to replicate. The platform blocks real-person likeness uploads and deepfakes. That is a sensible rule, but it kills a workflow some people expect.

Video

Video is the expensive part, and the most impressive. Clips run up to 60 seconds. The help center lists these prices:

  • 100 dreamcoins per 5 seconds of video
  • A full 60-second clip: 1,200 dreamcoins
  • Ultra-quality video: 200 dreamcoins
  • Enhancing video: 50 dreamcoins per 5 seconds
  • Adding audio: 20 dreamcoins per second

Do the math before you get excited. Your 1,000 monthly coins cover 10 short clips at the base rate, or five Ultra clips, or one minute of video with sound that costs more than your whole monthly allowance. Audio at 20 coins per second is the trap. A 30-second clip with sound adds 600 coins on its own.

Older reviews mention 5-to-30-second clips and lip-sync. Lip-sync is not confirmed on any official page, so do not buy on that promise. What is confirmed: the Ultra tier exists, and 60 seconds is the ceiling.

Voice and group chat

Voice calls cost 50 dreamcoins per minute. A 20-minute call burns 1,000 coins, your entire monthly allowance. Premium-voice narration is cheaper at 5 coins per paragraph. Voice messages are supported too.

Group chat works by clicking a character portrait or typing @ plus a name. It is a nice feature for ensemble scenes and costs nothing extra on a subscription, since subscriber chat is free. The Genius and Lively Genius models are the exception at 1 dreamcoin per response, which is a small tax on the smarter replies.

Chat quality and memory

Independent reviewers describe the chat as coherent and in-character. Characters stay in voice. Replies land on topic. The weak spot is memory. OurDream relies mainly on recent message history rather than a long-term store, so a story that spans weeks will start to contradict itself. Our memory score reflects that.

There is also an Automod filter that screens conversations with a proprietary language model. The company's own help center admits the filter is "a bit too sensitive." Expect the occasional blocked message mid-scene. For an 18+ platform that explicitly allows NSFW roleplay, some moderation is expected. Just know it can interrupt you.

Pricing

One paid plan is officially documented. Everything else you read about "Deluxe" tiers comes from third parties.

PlanPriceBilledDreamcoins
Free tier$0n/aNone; 1 coin per message
Premium monthly$19.99/month$19.99 every month1,000 per month
Premium annual$9.99/month$119.88 per year2,000 upfront, then 1,000 per month

The annual plan halves the effective monthly price and hands you double coins in month one. Both plans include unlimited messages and the ability to buy extra coins. Coins arrive at 2pm EST on your renewal date, and unused coins roll over. They do not expire.

Watch out for the free tier. It is barely a trial. Free users pay 1 coin per message, cannot generate images or video, and cannot buy coins at all. There is no time-limited free trial either. You either subscribe or you chat on a metered drip.

Deluxe and top-ups

Third-party sources report a Deluxe plan at $29.99 or $59.99 with 5,000 coins. It does not appear on official pricing pages, and the two prices contradict each other. Treat it as unconfirmed.

Reported top-ups: 1,000 coins for $11.99, 5,000 for $49.99, 20,000 for $159.99. These figures are unverified, and only subscribers can buy coins anyway. There are no official promo codes; the Discord runs giveaways instead.

This table is the reason the value score is high. The company publishes exactly what each action costs. Most competitors bury this in a support ticket.

Privacy: read the policy, not the homepage

This is where OurDream loses points. The homepage FAQ claims chats are end-to-end encrypted and that "not even us" can read them. The privacy policy, last modified August 26, 2026, describes something different: AES encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, and a SOC 1/SOC 2 Type 2 hosting platform. That is server-side encryption. It protects data from outsiders. It does not stop the company from reading your chats.

The same policy says your information may be used to "train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models." Conversations pass through the Automod filter. Retention is "as long as necessary" with no fixed periods. Popular public characters may stay active even after their creator deletes their account. No two-factor authentication appears in any policy we read.

What the policy does get right: it says the company does not sell personal information, and account deletion via Profile > danger zone is processed in 24 to 48 hours. Deletion permanently removes your generations, unpublished characters, chat history and unused coins. That is clean. The encryption marketing is not.

If you use OurDream, keep real names and personal details out of chats. Assume a human moderator could read them. Assume they might train a model.

Safety and content rules

The platform is 18+ with an age gate and attestation at signup. Where required by law, payment partners or risk assessment, it may ask for government ID or facial age estimation. That varies by region.

The Prohibited Content Policy bans underage content, including "loli" characters and scenes implying infants, real-person likeness uploads and deepfakes, and other illegal material. The Automod filter enforces it imperfectly in both directions: it blocks some legal content and, presumably, misses some illegal content. Users cannot upload their own photos for replication, which closes the most obvious deepfake route.

Our usual note applies. An AI companion is not a substitute for human relationships or professional support.

Refunds, cancellation and the blurred gallery

The refund rules contradict each other, and you should know both versions before paying.

The refund policy, modified March 9, 2026, gives you 14 days to report defects or services that differ significantly from the description. Write to [email protected]. Outcomes, whether credit, replacement or refund, are decided case by case within about seven business days. Unused portions of a billing period are generally non-refundable.

The help center adds a stricter rule: refunds are denied if more than 25% of a product was used. Monthly subscriptions are not refunded once coins are used up. Annual plans may get a full or partial refund. Which rule wins depends on who reads your ticket.

Other hard edges:

  • Crypto payments are final, no refunds.
  • EEA, UK and Swiss users have a 14-day withdrawal right, which can be lost once the digital service is fully provided.
  • A chargeback filed without contacting support first can suspend your account.
  • After a refund, your media blurs and unused coins are removed.

Cancel anytime at ourdream.ai/profile and keep access until the billing period ends. Then the gallery blurs. Every image and video you generated stays behind frosted glass until you subscribe again. Purchased coins do not expire, but you cannot use them for much on the free tier. If you plan to cancel, download what you want first.

Payment methods and apps

OurDream takes credit and debit cards and crypto. There is no PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay. If your card is declined, the help center suggests G2A prepaid codes as a fallback, which is an unusual workaround and worth flagging to your bank before you try it.

There is no native iOS or Android app. The site is web-only. You can add ourdream.ai to your home screen in Safari or Chrome for something app-like. Any download claiming to be an official OurDream app is not from Dream Studio USA, Inc. Avoid APK files with this name.

The interface is English-only. Characters can switch languages inside a chat if you ask them to, per the help center, but the menus and settings stay English.

How it compares

PlatformBest forPrice fromMonthly credits
OurDream AILots of image and video for the money$9.99/month annual1,000 dreamcoins
Candy.aiPhotorealistic images, cheap yearly plan$3.99/month annual100 tokens
Secrets AILong-term memory and voice calls$9.17/month annual8,000 Moments

Candy.ai is cheaper per month but gives you 100 tokens to OurDream's 1,000 coins, and its refund window is 24 hours with 20 tokens or fewer. Secrets AI includes 8,000 Moments a month, but a single video burns 600 of them, and group chat and Lorebooks require the $39.99 Ultimate tier. OurDream sits in the middle on price and wins on media volume per dollar.

Who should use it

Subscribe if you want a steady stream of images and short videos from an 18+ roleplay platform, you like building characters, and you can live with average memory and a privacy policy that trains on your chats. Start with one month. Watch your coin burn for the first week. If video is your thing, you will know fast whether $19.99 fits your budget or you should go annual.

Skip it if long, consistent story arcs matter more than pictures, if you need a native app, if you only pay with PayPal, or if you refuse to have your chats used for model training. In those cases, Secrets AI is the memory pick and Candy.ai is the cheap-image pick.

Bottom line

OurDream AI is legitimate, well documented and unusually generous with media. The coin price list is public, the character builder is deep, and the annual plan is half the monthly rate. The problems are real too: memory fades over long arcs, the encryption claim on the homepage does not match the privacy policy, the refund rules conflict, and everything you make blurs the moment you stop paying. We rate OurDream AI 9.7 out of 10. Pay for a month first, keep your identity out of the chat box, and download your gallery before you cancel.
