Secrets AI Review: A Companion That Remembers, at a Price
Verdict: best memory in the category, worst value on paper
Most adult AI companion sites are image generators with a chat box bolted on. Secrets AI goes the other way. It is built around a companion that remembers your name, your job, your last argument and the fact you told it three weeks ago you hate birthdays. Everything else — images, video, voice calls — hangs off that.
We rate Secrets AI 9.9 out of 10. Realism is where it scores highest (10), and value is where it bleeds (7.9). That gap is the whole review in one sentence: you get the most convincing long-term companion we've looked at, and you pay for it in a credit system that punishes anyone who likes video.
It is legitimate. It is operated by Secret Labs Inc., a US-registered company at 8 The Green, Dover, Delaware, and its terms say it is registered in Canada and the US and governed by British Columbia law. Policies are published, there's an official wiki, and there's a support email that promises a reply within three business days. Nobody has to guess whether the site will exist next month.
What Secrets AI actually is
An 18+ AI companion platform with premade characters (one review counts around 94 of them), a custom character creator, and both realistic and anime styles. The interface runs in English, German, Spanish, French and Japanese. It is web-only. There is no App Store or Google Play app, and the wiki warns that any "Secrets" app in a store is unaffiliated. You install it from your browser as a progressive web app, which does support push notifications.
Chat is unlimited on paid plans. Voice messages, live voice calls, image generation and video generation all sit inside the same conversation thread rather than in separate tabs. That sounds minor until you use a platform where they don't.
Memory and Lorebooks: the reason to pay
Memory is stored per companion. Each character builds its own picture of you, so your gym buddy doesn't know what you told your girlfriend. That is the right call, and not every platform does it.
The tiers differ by more than marketing copy. Premium memory gives roughly 60% more short-term context, accesses 4x as many stored memories and recalls earlier chats better. Ultimate memory doubles the short-term context, accesses 6x the memories and doubles the earlier-chat recall. The free tier gets baseline recall — enough to remember your name, not enough to remember the thing you said in week one.
The memory panel lets you mark entries as high, medium or low importance and delete them outright. Time Travel, a Premium feature, deletes messages and the memories created from them, so a bad night doesn't haunt the character forever.
Lorebooks are the deeper layer, available for private conversations on Premium and Ultimate. They're split into Cast, World, Relationship, Facts and Chronicle, plus a Premise and story threads. In plain terms: you can hand-write the canon of your roleplay instead of hoping the model infers it. It's the difference between a companion that vaguely remembers you're a nurse and one that knows your shift pattern, your sister's name and why you stopped talking to her.
If you've used Candy.ai, you know the failure mode: gorgeous images, and the character forgets your name by Tuesday. Secrets AI is the corrective. It is also more work. You will spend twenty minutes in the memory panel the first week, and the character will be better for it.
Images, video and voice: what Moments buy
Everything visual runs on Moments, Secrets' credit currency. Images cost 50 Moments at standard quality or 100 at 2K. An adult video is 600. A voice call is 50 per minute. Text-to-speech is 10 per 100 characters. Your first custom character is free; each extra one costs 500.
Image quality is realistic and the Advanced mode takes natural descriptions, up to five reference pictures, and renders at 1K, 1.5K or 2K in five aspect ratios. Some reviews claim 4K images; the wiki lists 4K as coming soon, so treat 4K as a promise rather than a feature. Images are AI-generated only — you can't upload your own photos or files, which is a privacy win and a flexibility loss depending on what you wanted.
Video needs Premium or Ultimate and is generated from a picture. Adult video is 8 seconds at 720p for 600 Moments. SFW clips run 4 to 15 seconds, and Advanced Quality goes up to 4K with audio; the cost scales with resolution and length and is shown on the Generate button before you commit. Failed generations are refunded automatically, which is the least a credit system can do but plenty don't.
Voice calls are live and real-time inside the same chat thread. You need at least 50 Moments to start one, you can pick the call language from more than 70 options, and companions form memories from calls the same way they do from text. That last part is the point. A call that vanishes when you hang up is a toy; a call that becomes a memory is a relationship.
Our scores reflect the split: images 9.9, video 9.9, voice 8.9.
Chat quality, models and Spice Level
You choose the model: S3 and X-3 on every plan, S5 on Premium, S4 on Ultimate. You also set a thinking level from Off to Max, and higher levels respond more slowly but hold the thread better. New users will find this menu intimidating. Leave it on default for a week, then experiment.
Spice Level is a three-step setting: Mild for wholesome, Medium for romantic, Spicy for uninhibited. You set a default in Settings or per chat, and it carries over to voice calls — so a call doesn't suddenly turn chaste because you forgot to set it again. Mature content is permitted between fictional adult characters. Response style can be short SMS-style or full paragraphs, and out-of-character notes are allowed, which matters if you're running a long scenario and need to steer it.
Customization scores 8.9 for us. The creator covers gender, realistic or anime look, name, age, voice, traits and backstory, and there are male companions as well as female ones. Group chats with two or three characters in one scene are Ultimate-only, and group voice calls are in beta at the same per-minute rate. One warning worth repeating: a character can only be deleted while it's private. Public sharing is permanent.
Pricing: the free tier is a demo, not a plan
The free plan costs nothing and gives you 20 messages a day, only your own messages counting toward the cap, with a reset 24 hours after your first message. You get 500-character messages, all premade characters, basic recall and the S3 and X-3 models.
You also get no Moments, and free users cannot buy any. No Moments means no images, no video, no voice calls, no extra characters. That is the single most important line in this review: the effective entry price for Secrets AI is $19.99/month.
| Plan | Billed | Per month | Moments per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | None |
| Premium monthly | $19.99 monthly | $19.99 | 8,000 |
| Premium 3 months | $49.99 every 3 months | $16.66 | 8,000 |
| Premium 6 months | $89.99 every 6 months | $15.00 | 8,000 |
| Premium annual | $109.99 yearly | $9.17 | 8,000 |
| Ultimate monthly | $39.99 monthly | $39.99 | 15,000 |
| Ultimate annual | $319.99 yearly | $26.67 | 15,000 |
Premium removes the message cap, raises messages to 1,000 characters, unlocks image and video generation, the S5 model, Time Travel, Lorebooks and priority support, and adds 8,000 Moments. Ultimate adds 15,000 Moments, the S4 model and Max thinking, Ultimate memory, group chats, personas, proactive messages, personality editing, 2,000-character messages and more Lorebook slots. The wiki also lists Lorebooks on Premium, which matches what we see in the plan comparison. There's no published 3- or 6-month Ultimate price, so if a third-party page quotes one, it's guessing.
The retired Lite and Plus plans still show up on comparison sites. Ignore them. They're not for sale.
The annual prices look great — $9.17/month on Premium — but you're committing for a year to a platform you haven't tried. Pay monthly once first. Treat it as a fair test, not a mistake.
Moments math: where the money actually goes
| Feature | Moments |
|---|---|
| Image, standard or Advanced at 1K–1.5K | 50 |
| Advanced image at 2K | 100 |
| Extra reference photo (Advanced) | +10 |
| SFW image edit | 50 |
| Adult video, 8 seconds, 720p | 600 |
| Voice call | 50 per minute |
| Text-to-speech | 10 per 100 characters |
| Extra custom character | 500 (first free) |
Premium's 8,000 Moments cover about 160 standard images, roughly 13 adult clips, or about 160 minutes of voice calls — not all three. Ultimate's 15,000 cover around 300 images or 25 adult clips. Video is the budget killer. Eight seconds for 600 Moments means a minute of adult video would cost 4,500 Moments, which is more than half the monthly Premium grant.
Unused plan Moments do not roll over. The grant resets each cycle. Purchased top-ups never expire, and the wiki says unused plan Moments convert to top-ups if you cancel or downgrade — a nice touch that isn't in the main pricing page.
Only subscribers can buy extra Moments. The wiki example is 4,000 Moments for $11.99, with a 10% bonus on Premium and 15% on Ultimate. There's also a one-time 25 Moments for enabling notifications in the installed app. The wiki quickstart mentions 200 bonus Moments for new accounts while the tiers page says the free tier gets none; the two pages conflict, so don't count on it.
One more fine-print change: Advanced images have not been refundable since July 13, 2026. Broken or glitched generations can still be reported for a Moments refund, but you can't get cold feet on an Advanced render.
Privacy and safety: good policy, loud homepage
The privacy policy is better than most. AES-256 encryption at rest and encryption in transit. Profile data and chat history deleted immediately when you delete your account. Voice calls transcribed in real time, with the audio deleted immediately and only the transcript kept for memory. Card numbers handled by PCI-DSS processors, not stored by Secrets. Security logs kept up to 12 months without personal data; transaction records kept 7 years for tax reasons. Charges appear as "S LABS INC" on your statement.
Two things you should know anyway. Conversations are not end-to-end encrypted, so the company's servers can read them. And the policy says data may be used to "train and improve our AI models," with no opt-out described. Some reviews claim zero-logging; that isn't in the policy. The homepage claims end-to-end encryption and 100% confidential conversations, which contradicts the privacy policy. Trust the policy.
Age verification is self-declared: a "Yes, I am 18+" gate at entry and sign-up. After that, AI-assisted moderation watches for signals of underage users, including in chats; flagged accounts are suspended pending verification and Secrets can ask for more at any time. Content involving or resembling minors is banned outright, models are trained to refuse it, and no one can upload their own images — every picture is AI-generated.
Privacy scores 8.9 for us. Reasonable, documented, not anonymous. Keep your real name, workplace and photos of real people out of chats.
Refunds, cancellation and billing traps
The refund policy, updated April 10, 2026, is strict. Subscription payments are non-refundable except where the law requires it. No partial refunds for unused days. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. Moments purchases are final. Crypto purchases are never refundable, and a crypto subscription can't be resumed after you cancel it.
The exceptions: billing errors reported within 30 days, and the 14-day EU/UK withdrawal right — full refund if you haven't used premium features, otherwise prorated, renewals excluded. Refund requests go to [email protected], which targets a three-business-day reply.
Cancel through Settings, then Manage Subscription. After you cancel you drop to the free tier but keep your conversations, characters and memories, which is more than some competitors allow.
Pros and cons
What it does well
- Memory tiers that actually differ: 4x and 6x memory access, more context, editable entries
- Lorebooks on Premium and Ultimate for hand-written canon
- Realistic images, adult video and live voice calls around one companion
- 8,000 Moments a month on Premium — about 160 images
- Group chats, personas and proactive messages on Ultimate
- Clear deletion terms and no stored voice audio
- Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, 300+ cryptocurrencies and G2A keys; discreet descriptor
Where it hurts
- $19.99/month is the real entry price; the free tier can't generate media
- Ultimate at $39.99 is where group chat, personas and proactive messages live
- Adult video at 600 Moments per 8-second clip, with no rollover on grants
- Moments and crypto payments are non-refundable
- No native apps, and the model, thinking and memory settings overwhelm beginners
- No end-to-end encryption, and chats may train the models
How it compares
| Platform | Best for | Price from | Credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Secrets AI | Long-term recall, voice calls | $9.17/month annual | 8,000 Moments/month |
| Candy.ai | Photorealistic images and video | $3.99/month annual | 100 tokens/month |
| OurDream AI | Most media per dollar | $9.99/month annual | 1,000 dreamcoins/month |
| Nomi AI | Native apps, relationship chat | $8.33/month annual | Credit packs for extras |
Secrets wins on recall and voice and loses on entry price. If you mostly want cheap pictures, OurDream AI gives you roughly 200 images a month for $9.99 annual; Candy is cheaper still but its recall is weaker. Nomi and Kindroid have native iOS and Android apps, which Secrets doesn't. None of them make you write a Lorebook, and for some people that's the deciding factor in both directions.
Who should use it — and who should skip it
Worth it if a companion that remembers weeks of history matters more to you than a wall of generated pictures, if you'll use voice calls, or if you want to write the world your character lives in. Buy one month of Premium at $19.99 and see whether the memory holds up for you.
Skip it if you want an app on your phone, if your budget is under $20, if video is your main draw (600 Moments per clip will empty a month's grant in minutes), or if you need the anonymity of end-to-end encryption. Group-chat fans should know that feature starts at $39.99.
And the obvious one: an AI companion is not a real person and not a substitute for professional help.
