Candy AI Alternatives: Pick the One That Fixes Your Complaint
Most people don't leave Candy AI because the pictures are bad. They leave because of the bill, the memory, or the refund policy. Here's the...
OurDream AI is fine value for images and video, but plenty of people leave over memory, refunds or privacy. Here are the replacements that actually fix those complaints, with real prices and the fine print.
OurDream AI 9.7 is not a bad product. The media tools are strong for the price, and $9.99 a month on the yearly plan buys 1,000 dreamcoins β roughly 200 images. But people leave anyway. The reasons are usually specific: the story resets, the refund rules contradict themselves, the privacy claims do not match the policy, or they just want a native phone app.
So this is not a generic βbest AI girlfriend appsβ list. It is a matching exercise. Below you will find the complaint, the replacement that fixes it, and the price you will actually pay. Every number comes from published pricing, policy pages or independent reviews. Nobody paid to be listed.
| Reason for leaving | Best pick | Price from | Free tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Memory fades in long stories | Secrets AI | $9.17/month annual | 20 messages a day |
| Polished images for less | Candy AI | $3.99/month annual | 5 messages total |
| Slow-burn relationship | Kupid AI | $13.99/month | Limited |
| Native phone app | Nomi | $15.99/month | Limited messages |
| No per-message payment | SpicyChat | Free ($5.95/month paid) | Yes, with queue |
| Story-first roleplay | Janitor AI | Free ($12.99/month Janitor+) | Yes |
| Unfiltered chat on budget | CrushOn AI | $5.99/month | 100 credits a month |
| Huge character choice | GirlfriendGPT | $15/month reported | Yes, limited |
| Game-like dating | DreamGF | $25.99/month | Minimal |
| Warm affectionate chat | Nectar AI | $9.99/month | 15 messages a day |
Four complaints come up again and again.
1. The refund rules do not line up. OurDream advertises a 14-day quality guarantee. But the help center says it refuses refunds once 25% of the plan is used. Those two statements cannot both be true. Also, crypto payments are final.
2. The privacy wording is fuzzy. The FAQ claims end-to-end encryption. The privacy policy only promises server-side encryption. That is a big difference. End-to-end means nobody but you can read the messages. Server-side means the company holds the keys. The policy also permits using your data to train AI models. Our review digs into this: OurDream AI Review: Great Media, Fuzzy Privacy.
3. Your media gets blurred when you cancel. Images and videos are not deleted, but they stay blurred until you resubscribe. Unused purchased coins stay in your account. You drop to free features. Decide before you cancel.
4. It is browser-only. No native app. No PayPal. English only. Account deletion takes 24 to 48 hours per policy.
If none of that bothers you, staying is reasonable. OurDream remains strong value for media. Switch only for a clear reason.
We started from the complaint, not the brand. Then we checked four things:
One more warning before the list: no platform here offers unlimited images. Every one meters media through coins, tokens or credits.
Secrets AI 9.9 is the closest like-for-like swap if your main complaint is that OurDream forgets. It keeps images, video and voice calls, and it remembers far more of the story. Our full review is here: Secrets AI Review: A Companion That Remembers, at a Price.
Pricing: $19.99 monthly or $109.99 yearly, which works out to about $9.17 a month. The yearly plan includes 8,000 Moments. There is an Ultimate tier at $39.99.
Media costs: 50 Moments per image, 600 per adult video, 50 per minute of voice call. The free tier gives 20 messages a day but no media generation.
Fine print: Moments do not roll over. Purchases are largely non-refundable, and crypto payments are treated as final. Encryption is AES-256 at rest; chat history is deleted when you delete your account. Voice audio is not stored, but the company may train models on chats.
Skip it if you want a native app β Secrets is a web app you add to your home screen β or if you need your credits to roll over.
Candy AI 9.8 wins on price for pictures. The annual plan is $3.99 a month ($47.88 a year). Quarterly is $8.99 a month, monthly is $13.99. Every plan includes 100 tokens, and an image costs about 4 tokens.
That sounds generous until you do the math. One hundred tokens is roughly 25 images a month. Tokens drain fast. Testers also report that story threads reset within days. If long memory is why you are leaving OurDream, Candy is not the fix. If you mainly want polished images for less money, it is.
Other details: 13 interface languages, image-to-video, beta voice calls. Payment via card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or crypto. The free tier is 5 messages total β a demo, not a trial. Refunds must be requested within a day and with a maximum of 20 tokens spent. Read the full breakdown: Candy.ai Review: Great Pictures, Thin Memory, Real Token Bills.
Kupid AI Premium is $13.99 monthly or $84 yearly, according to a 2026 third-party review. The Ultimate tier is $49 a month, and there is a lifetime plan at $777.
Those prices come from third-party sources, not the official page. Treat them as approximate. The $777 lifetime plan ties a lot of money to a small vendor. Think hard before paying it.
Best for people who want a slower, relationship-style build rather than instant explicit media. The free tier is limited.
Nomi costs $15.99 a month or $99.99 a year. It has native iOS and Android apps β the thing OurDream lacks β plus group chat.
One caveat from Nomi's own help wiki: it does not send nude photos. If OurDream's image generation is what you use most, Nomi will feel like a step back. If you want a companion in your pocket and warm conversation, it fits.
SpicyChat's paid tiers are $5.95, $19.95 and $29.95 monthly after a September 2026 price increase. Yearly is about 17% off. The company claims 100 million registered users.
It runs its own SpicyXL model, offers text-to-speech and a multilingual mode. Free users can be queued at busy times, and the free memory window is small. Memory only grows on higher tiers.
Missing: no video, no iOS app. There is an Android download. Best for people who hate per-message charges and want a real free tier.
Janitor AI is fully free, including its JanitorLLM model. You can also bring your own API key. Janitor+ launched in June 2026 at $12.99 monthly or $8.25 a month yearly, and adds five times the context plus priority responses.
The Discord community is close to 400,000 people. But there is no image, video or voice generation at all. The API route has a learning curve.
Best for text roleplay and long stories. Skip it if you need media.
CrushOn AI's Standard plan is $5.99 monthly, or $4.90 a month yearly. The free tier gives 100 message credits a month. The price ladder climbs all the way to $199.99 a month.
It offers 20+ models and memory up to 24K on top tiers. Two warnings. Free chat history is deleted after 7 days of inactivity. And its Trustpilot score was 1.8 from 22 reviews as of October 10, 2026 β a small sample, but not encouraging.
GirlfriendGPT plans are reported at $15, $35 and $50 monthly, with 400, 1,200 or 2,000 coins. Video is around 20 coins. Yearly is reported at $12 a month.
These prices are not confirmed on the official page. There is no native mobile app. Best for browsing a huge character catalog on a budget, with the understanding that the numbers are second-hand.
DreamGF's official price is $25.99 monthly with 100 tokens. An image costs 10 tokens; a voice call costs 7 tokens per minute.
The annual plan is $69.99 for the first year, then $311.88. That is a big step-up. It offers discreet billing, voice messages and voice calls. The free tier is minimal.
Nectar AI tiers are $9.99, $19.99 and $34.99 monthly. The free tier gives 15 messages and 10 generations a day. Yearly is reported at 50% off.
The catch: it charges credits per message on top of the plan. One reviewer put moderate use at $60 to $75 monthly in extra credits. Check the full cost before committing.
Nastia AI has an Unlimited plan at $15.99 listing unlimited messages, 4K selfies and 1080p video. Group chats hold up to 10 characters. The free version is uncensored, per Nastia.
Replika focuses on emotional support and wellness, not adult media. It is the wrong replacement if you want OurDream's image tools.
LusyChat claims on-demand image and video generation in its own comparison. Those claims are unverified by independent data.
Character AI has a large community and native apps, but it blocks NSFW content. It does not replace OurDream.
We left out Yume AI for lack of verified pricing or policy data.
| Platform | Monthly | Best long-term price | Media payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| OurDream AI | $19.99 | $9.99/month ($119.88/year) | 1,000 dreamcoins a month |
| Secrets AI | $19.99 | $9.17/month ($109.99/year) | 8,000 Moments a month |
| Candy AI | $13.99 | $3.99/month ($47.88/year) | 100 tokens a month |
| Kupid AI | $13.99 | $84/year reported | Not published in data |
| Nomi | $15.99 | $99.99/year | Credits |
| SpicyChat | $5.95 | About 17% off yearly | Tier unlocks |
| Janitor AI | Free / $12.99 | $8.25/month yearly | No media |
| CrushOn AI | $5.99 | $4.90/month yearly | Message credits |
| GirlfriendGPT | $15 reported | $12/month yearly reported | Coins |
| DreamGF | $25.99 | $69.99 first year, then $311.88 | 100 tokens a month |
| Nectar AI | $9.99 | 50% off yearly reported | Credits |
OurDream's media economics: 1,000 dreamcoins a month equals roughly 200 images. In-chat images cost 5 coins. Video costs 100 coins per 5 seconds, and videos run up to 60 seconds. That means a single one-minute video eats 1,200 coins β more than a month's allowance. Plan for that.
Candy AI is cheaper per image but the token pool is smaller. Secrets gives 8,000 Moments, with images at 50 and adult video at 600. DreamGF charges 10 tokens per image and 7 per minute of voice.
No platform here offers unlimited images. If a marketing page implies otherwise, read the credit table.
Memory is where cheap apps fall apart. Candy AI testers report story threads resetting within days. SpicyChat's free memory window is small, and memory grows only on higher tiers. CrushOn AI reaches 24K memory only on top tiers. Secrets AI is the standout for long stories, which is why it tops the memory row above.
Janitor AI with Janitor+ adds five times the context, which matters for story-first roleplay.
Secrets: 20 messages a day, no media. Candy AI: 5 messages total. OurDream: 1 dreamcoin per message, no image or video; unlimited messages are Premium-only. SpicyChat: free with a queue. Janitor AI: fully free. CrushOn AI: 100 credits a month. Nectar AI: 15 messages and 10 generations a day. DreamGF: minimal. Nastia: free version uncensored per the vendor.
If you want to test before paying, Janitor AI and SpicyChat are the honest options. Neither matches OurDream's media tools.
No app on this list has verified end-to-end encryption. OurDream's FAQ claims it; the privacy policy says server-side only, and permits training models on your data. Secrets uses AES-256 at rest, deletes chat history on account deletion, does not store voice audio, but may train models on chats. Candy AI and the rest publish less detail.
Crypto payments are final at OurDream and Secrets. Use a separate email. Check how charges appear on your statement. Assume the company can read your chats.
OurDream still offers strong value for media. Switch only for a clear reason. For memory, pick Secrets AI or Nomi. For cheaper annual images, Candy AI. For free roleplay, SpicyChat or Janitor AI. For budget unfiltered chat, CrushOn AI. Check the full-access cost and refund rules first, and remember that all chats live on company servers.
Secrets AI fixes the memory problem while keeping images, video and voice calls. If images matter more to you than memory, Candy AI is the cheaper annual pick.
Janitor AI is fully free for text roleplay, and SpicyChat has a free chat tier with a queue at busy times. Neither matches OurDream's media tools.
OurDream, Candy AI and Secrets are web apps you add to your home screen. Nomi and Replika have native iOS and Android apps, and SpicyChat offers an Android download.
SpicyChat has its in-house SpicyXL model, Secrets offers several chat models, and Janitor AI lets you bring your own API key. Most others do not disclose which models they use.
They are not deleted, but they stay blurred until you resubscribe. Unused purchased coins stay in your account, and you drop to free features.
No. The homepage claims it, but the privacy policy only covers encryption at rest and in transit. A moderation filter exists, and model training on your data is allowed.
Three platforms, ranked on what they actually deliver: memory that holds, voices that sound human, and prices you can check before signing up. Nobody paid for a spot on this list.
