Candy AI Alternatives: Pick the One That Fixes Your Complaint
Most people don't leave Candy AI because the pictures are bad. They leave because of the bill, the memory, or the refund policy. Here's the...
Secrets AI remembers more and charges more. Candy AI makes better pictures for a third of the entry price, then bills you per image. Here is how to choose.
Two paid companion apps, two different bets. Secrets AI sells memory and live voice calls. Candy.ai sells photorealistic faces and the cheapest annual plan in the category. We rate Secrets AI 9.9 out of 10 and Candy.ai 9.8 out of 10, but the gap is small enough that the right pick depends on what you actually do with the app.
Short version: if you want a character who remembers last week, pick Secrets. If you want a gallery of consistent, believable images and you are willing to watch a token meter, pick Candy. Everything below is built from published pricing pages, privacy policies and user reports, not from our own accounts.

Secrets AI comes from Secret Labs Inc., registered in Canada and the US. It carries two subscription tiers, Premium and Ultimate, plus its own currency called Moments. The interface ships in English, German, Spanish, French and Japanese. Your card statement will read S LABS INC.
Candy.ai is run by EverAI Limited, registered in Malta, and launched in 2023. It is the bigger operation by traffic: competitor guides put it past 11 million monthly visitors, and Similarweb showed roughly 63.7 million visits over three months as of August 2026. Candy bills as EverAI and its interface covers 13 languages.
Neither has a native app. Both are web apps you can pin to a home screen, and as of 2026 that is the whole mobile story. Any App Store listing using these names is not official.
This is where the two stop being comparable.
Secrets stores memories per character in a panel you can open, rank, correct and delete. Its Lorebooks split context into sections โ cast, world, relationship, facts, chronicle โ so you can write down that your character hates thunderstorms and have it stick. Free accounts get basic recall. Premium adds roughly 60% more short-term context and 4x the memories. Ultimate doubles context again and gives 6x memory access. One wrinkle: the wiki lists Lorebooks as a Premium and Ultimate feature in some places and Ultimate-only in others. Assume the cheaper tier until you confirm it in your own account.
Candy's memory is the weak spot. Users report that context resets after about 48 to 72 hours. Premium Plus adds 20 memory slots, which helps, but resetting a chat clears the memory attached to it. If you are three weeks into a storyline, that is a functional problem, not a nitpick. Our full Candy.ai review goes deeper on this.
On chat models, Secrets runs S3 and X-3 on every plan, S5 on Premium and S4 on Ultimate. It also has three Spice Levels โ Mild, Medium, Spicy โ that apply to text and to calls. Candy's personality builder is deeper at setup, but setup is not the same as recall.
Candy wins the picture contest, and it is not close. Faces stay consistent across shots, which is the thing most apps fumble. It handles realistic and anime styles, and the builder lets you set ethnicity, age, body, hair, voice, personality and hobbies. The cost is the catch: an image runs about 4 tokens, so 100 tokens is roughly 25 images. Testers in September 2026 confirmed that math.
Secrets charges 50 Moments per image and 100 at 2K. Advanced mode accepts up to five reference pictures and outputs at 2K. With 8,000 Moments a month on Premium, that is about 160 images if you stay at standard resolution. Secrets also refunds failed generations; Candy charges per attempt. Rerolls feel like a slot machine either way โ budget for misses.
Video splits the same way. Secrets makes adult clips at 8 seconds, 720p, for 600 Moments. On Premium, that works out to roughly 13 clips a month before you buy more. SFW clips stretch to 15 seconds and price scales with resolution and length. Candy does image-to-video at about 12 tokens, so 100 tokens buys roughly 8 conversions. There is a Live Action mode on selected characters. There is no text-to-video, which means you need a good still first.
Secrets takes this one. Live calls cost 50 Moments per minute and run in more than 70 languages. Voice messages cost 10 Moments per 100 characters. The Spice Level you set applies to calls too. Voice audio is deleted after transcription.
Candy has voice, but calls are in beta and testers measured about 3 tokens per minute. Cheap, but a beta is a beta.
Neither company advertises voice cloning. If a cloned voice is the thing you want, look elsewhere โ Nastia offers it on its top plan.
Secrets asks for gender, look, name, age, voice, traits and backstory. Your first custom character is free; extras cost 500 Moments. The prebuilt library holds around 94 companions according to guides and at least one published review. Ultimate adds group chat with two or three companions, AI personas, proactive messages and personality editing.
Candy's builder is the more granular of the two on appearance. Free users get one character; extra characters cost about 10 tokens. Premium Plus adds user personas and chat clones. There is no documented group chat.
| Plan | Secrets AI | Candy AI |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 20 messages/day, no Moments | 5 messages total, 1 character, 1 image |
| Monthly | Premium $19.99 | Premium $13.99 |
| Quarterly | $49.99 ($16.66/month) | $26.97 ($8.99/month) |
| 6 months | $89.99 ($15.00/month) | Not offered |
| Annual | $109.99 ($9.17/month) | $47.88 ($3.99/month) |
| Top tier | Ultimate $39.99/month or $319.99/year | Premium Plus, price shown only at checkout |
| Monthly credits | 8,000 Moments (15,000 on Ultimate) | 100 tokens (330 on Premium Plus) |
The sticker prices tell one story. The credit math tells another.
Candy's $3.99 annual is the cheapest real subscription here. But 100 tokens a month is about 25 images, or 8 video conversions, or a mix that disappears fast. Top-ups reportedly start at $9.99 for 100 tokens, and heavy users report $25 to $80 a month all in. Older guides still quote $12.99 a month plus token fees, so the plan ladder has moved around. Candy's Premium Plus price is not shown until checkout, which is annoying and worth knowing before you commit.
Two Candy rules to read twice. Unused tokens expire at the end of the billing period if you cancel. And refunds are limited: within 24 hours, only if you have used 20 tokens or fewer, card payments only.
Secrets is more expensive at every tier and its monthly Moments do not roll over either. Purchased Moments, however, never expire, which is a fairer setup. Refunds are narrower than Candy's: subscriptions and Moments are non-refundable except where the law requires it, and crypto is never refunded. Adult video at 600 Moments a clip will push heavy users into top-ups. The best extras โ group chat, personas, 15,000 Moments โ sit behind the $39.99 Ultimate plan.
EU and UK buyers get a 14-day withdrawal right on both services. If you are in that group, you have a legal out the refund policies do not advertise loudly.
Secrets gives you 20 messages a day, basic memory and access to all prebuilt companions, but no Moments, so no images or video. Candy gives you 5 messages total, one character, one image, and no adult images or video. Five messages is enough to see the interface and nothing else. If you want to judge either app honestly, you need a paid month.
| Point | Secrets AI | Candy AI |
|---|---|---|
| Encryption | AES-256 at rest, encrypted in transit | TLS in transit, encrypted passwords |
| End-to-end | No โ despite a homepage claim | No |
| Training use | Data may train and improve models | De-identified chats may train models, with human review |
| Deletion | Chat history deleted immediately with account | Account data kept up to 3 years after last activity unless requested |
| Voice audio | Deleted after transcription | Not specified |
| Billing descriptor | S LABS INC | EverAI |
Neither service offers end-to-end encryption. Secrets' homepage says otherwise; its privacy policy does not back the claim. Candy is GDPR compliant with EverAI Limited as data controller under Maltese law, and it shares message content with third-party LLM providers and moderation vendors. Third-party sites claim Candy uses AES-256 at rest; its privacy notice names no method, so treat that as unverified. A connection check in October 2026 showed TLS 1.3 for Candy. Secrets routes card numbers through PCI-DSS processors.
No independent security audits or formal certifications turned up for either company. Both are 18+, both allow NSFW with fictional adults, and both ban minors. Both run Discord servers. If privacy is your deciding factor, Secrets is the clearer of the two: AES-256 at rest, immediate deletion, voice audio scrubbed after transcription. Candy's three-year retention after last activity is the single most off-putting line in either policy.

Nomi AI runs $15.99 a month or $99.99 a year, has no token system for chat, and ships real iOS and Android apps. If tokens annoy you, start there.
CrushOn AI plans start at $5.99 a month, with a Standard tier that leans text-first.
Kupid AI claims more than 100 personas and lists Premium at $13.99 a month.
Nastia says its chat is uncensored without token fees, though its free tier and media use tokens. It is also the one here that advertises voice cloning.
Kalon AI claims flat pricing with no hidden costs, and Rabu AI advertises 256-bit encryption. Neither claim has been independently confirmed, so weigh them as marketing.
If media quality matters more than chat, OurDream AI is worth reading about, with the caveat that its privacy story is fuzzy.
Secrets AI is the better companion. Candy AI is the better camera. If you are building a long-running relationship with one character, making calls, and generating adult video, start with Secrets Premium annual at $9.17 a month. Upgrade to Ultimate only if you need group chat, personas or the 15,000 Moments.
If what you want is a stream of realistic images at the lowest entry price, take Candy annual at $3.99 and set a monthly token budget before you start. Heavy image and video use will erase the price advantage quickly.
Either way: protect your identity, set a hard budget, and treat the whole thing as entertainment. It is not a substitute for real support, and no subscription changes that.
Secrets AI scores higher overall, mainly on memory, voice calls and media credits per dollar. Candy.ai wins on photorealistic images and the lowest annual price. Choose by which of those you use more.
On the sticker price, yes: $3.99 a month annual versus $9.17. Heavy image and video users often end up paying more on Candy once tokens run out, with reported totals of $25 to $80 a month.
Yes. Both are 18+ services that allow NSFW content with fictional adult characters, and both ban minors. Candy's free tier excludes adult images and video.
Secrets AI. It stores memories per character with editable Lorebooks and tiered context boosts. Candy users report context resets after 48 to 72 hours, and resetting a chat clears its memory.
No. Both are browser-based web apps you can install to a home screen, and neither had a native app as of 2026. App store listings under either name are not official.
Three platforms, ranked on what they actually deliver: memory that holds, voices that sound human, and prices you can check before signing up. Nobody paid for a spot on this list.
