Candy AI Images: What They Cost in Tokens and What the Fine Print Says
Candy AI's image generator lives inside chat and runs on a token meter. Here is what a picture costs, what Premium includes, and the privacy terms...
Yes, there is a free tier, and it does not expire. It also has no Moments, no images, no video and no real memory. Here is exactly where the wall sits.
Yes. Secrets AI has a free tier and it does not expire. You sign up, you get 20 text messages a day, and you can talk to any companion in the standard library.
That is the whole free plan. No image generation. No video. No group chats. No personas. No Time Travel. No Lorebooks. No premium memory. And no Moments, which is the currency that pays for every picture and every minute of voice. You cannot even buy Moments on the free tier.
So the honest version is this: free means daily text chat with a character who will not remember much. Everything that makes the app interesting sits behind $19.99 a month. If you want the full breakdown of the product itself, our Secrets AI review covers it. This page is only about the money.
Here is the list, without the marketing trim.
On library size, the numbers disagree. One pricing guide claims over 100 pre-built fantasy scenarios. Other reviews count about 94 ready-made characters. Either way it is a decent shelf to browse, and it is the same shelf paying users see.
This is the part that decides whether free is enough for you.
The jump from free to $19.99 is the steepest part of this pricing page. There is no $5 or $10 step anymore.
There is no time-limited Premium trial. Nothing to cancel, no seven-day clock. The free tier is permanent, and that is the only taste you get.
You will also see the number 200 floating around. Several third-party pricing pages say new accounts get 200 bonus Moments at signup, and the wiki quickstart mentions a one-time 200 Moments grant for new accounts. The official tiers page lists no Moment grant for free accounts. The homepage has shown a "200 Free Moments" banner in some versions and not others.
Treat 200 signup Moments as unconfirmed. The one bonus that is documented is smaller: a one-time 25 Moments for enabling push notifications. Twenty-five Moments buys half an image. That tells you what the free tier thinks of you.
No payment card is needed to sign up, according to third-party guides.
There is no cheap tier. That matters, because older write-ups still describe one.
| Feature | Free | Premium | Ultimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $19.99/month or $109.99/year | $39.99/month or $319.99/year |
| Messages | 20 per day | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Monthly Moments | None; cannot buy | 8,000 | 15,000 |
| Image and video | No | Yes | Yes |
| Memory | Basic | Premium memory, Lorebooks | Ultimate memory, fullest Lorebooks |
| Group chats and personas | No | No | Yes |
Premium also adds video generation, the S5 model, Time Travel and premium memory. Per the official tier list, premium memory gives roughly 4x access and +60% context. Ultimate adds the S4 model with Max thinking, ultimate memory, the fullest Lorebooks, group chats, personas, proactive messages and personality editing.
Some pages still advertise a Lite plan at $5.99/month with 1,000 Moments, and a Plus plan at $9.99/month. Both are retired. Memory continuity, which used to start at Plus, now starts at Premium. If you found this app through an older article promising a ten-dollar tier, that article is out of date.
Monthly Premium is $19.99. Yearly Premium is $109.99, which works out to about $9.17 a month. Against twelve monthly payments of $19.99 ($239.88), that is roughly 54% off.
You can also buy in shorter blocks:
| Plan | Billing | Effective monthly | Moments/month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | $19.99 monthly | $19.99 | 8,000 |
| Premium | $49.99 every 3 months | $16.66 | 8,000 |
| Premium | $89.99 every 6 months | $15.00 | 8,000 |
| Premium | $109.99 yearly | $9.17 | 8,000 |
| Ultimate | $39.99 monthly | $39.99 | 15,000 |
| Ultimate | $319.99 yearly | $26.67 | 15,000 |
One claim to correct: the "about 33% off" annual saving is true for Ultimate ($319.99 against $479.88 of monthly billing) and understates Premium. Premium's yearly discount is closer to 54%. If you see 33% quoted as a general figure, it was lifted from the Ultimate line.
Moments are the real meter. The subscription buys you a monthly allowance, and the allowance drains fast once you start generating.
| Action | Moments per use |
|---|---|
| Image | 50 (100 at 2K) |
| Adult video clip | 600 |
| Voice call per minute | 50 |
| Text-to-speech per 100 characters | 10 |
| Extra custom character | 500 |
Do the arithmetic on Premium's 8,000 monthly Moments: about 160 standard images, or about 13 adult video clips. Adult clips run roughly 8 seconds. SFW clips can go up to 15 seconds and cost more. Video animates an existing companion image, so you are paying twice: once for the still, once for the motion.
Two rules save you money. First, plan Moments reset monthly and unused grants vanish, so there is no point rationing. Second, purchased top-ups do not expire, and failed generations are refunded automatically.
If the $19.99 step is what stopped you, our alternatives by reason for leaving sorts the field by complaint. And if memory is the feature you actually care about, OurDream AI vs Secrets AI puts the two side by side.
Secrets AI has no native mobile or desktop app. It runs in the browser and is mobile responsive. You can install it as a PWA through Safari on iOS or Chrome on Android and desktop, and that version supports push notifications. The wiki is explicit: any Secrets app on the App Store or Google Play is unaffiliated. We covered the install route separately in the Secrets AI app guide.
One upside: no native app means no in-app purchases. You pay on the website, which keeps the price visible and the cancellation in one place.
The company is Secret Labs Inc. The privacy policy says data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with AES-256 at rest. Voice audio is deleted right after transcription. Chat history and profile are deleted immediately on account deletion. Some guides say 30 days; the official policy is faster than that.
Now the caveats. Some pricing pages claim Private Mode uses end-to-end encryption, and the homepage has promised it too. The privacy policy describes only at-rest and in-transit encryption. Private Mode does not appear in the official policy. Assume the servers can read your chats, and that the policy allows your data to be used to improve their AI models.
On billing, statements show S LABS INC per Secret Labs' own pages. There is no official mention of Sun Clinical Laboratories billing, despite what some forum posts claim. Payments pass through PCI-DSS card processors.
Refunds are generally not offered, though EU and UK buyers have 14 days to withdraw. Crypto keeps your bank out of it, but crypto purchases are never refundable. Social login ties your companion to another profile, so a separate email address is cleaner.
And the obvious one: adult content is 18+ only. Secrets AI is also a separate product from Secret Desires, an unrelated companion app that shows up in the same searches.
If $0 is the budget, Secrets AI is not the most generous option. These five all give you more for nothing, in different ways.
| Platform | What $0 gets | Paid from |
|---|---|---|
| Nomi AI | Limited daily messages (users report about 50), one active Nomi | $15.99/month or $99.99/year |
| SpicyChat | Character library and creation, with ads and queue | $5.95/month |
| Janitor AI | Free roleplay on its own model, peak-hour queues | $12.99/month (Janitor+) |
| OurDream AI | Dreamcoin-based messages, one coin each, no free media | $9.99/month (annual) |
| Candy AI | 5 messages total and one image | $3.99/month (annual) |
Nomi gives you more messages and a reputation for memory. SpicyChat and Janitor are built for roleplay volume. Candy's free tier is a demo, not a plan: 5 messages total, one image. OurDream charges one Dreamcoin per message and gives no free media.
If you are weighing the two obvious rivals, Secrets AI vs Candy AI covers memory and privacy against pictures and a low sticker price. Short version: Candy is cheaper and prettier, Secrets remembers more and charges for it.
Free means daily text chat with any library character, no media, no calls and thin memory. It is a real free tier, not a trial, and it does not expire. It is also a demo of the paid product rather than a substitute for it.
Test with the 20 daily messages. If the writing holds up, annual Premium at about $9.17 a month is the best value on the page. If pictures and video are the point, start somewhere with a more generous free tier and come back when you know what you want to pay for. Pricing verified September 30, 2026.
Yes. There is no expiry and no trial clock. It stays at 20 text messages daily with basic memory and no media generation, and you can talk to any companion in the standard library.
No. Images and video are paid by Moments, and free accounts get no Moments and cannot buy them. Premium gets 8,000 Moments a month, Ultimate gets 15,000.
Annual Premium at $109.99, which works out to about $9.17 a month. Monthly Premium is $19.99, and the old Lite and Plus tiers at $5.99 and $9.99 are retired.
It is run by Secret Labs Inc. with AES-256 encryption at rest and immediate deletion of chat history and profile when you close your account. But chats are not end-to-end encrypted and the policy allows your data to improve their models, so leave out identifying details.
No. Secret Desires is a separate AI companion app that turns up in the same searches. This page and our review cover secrets.ai only.
Three platforms, ranked on what they actually deliver: memory that holds, voices that sound human, and prices you can check before signing up. Nobody paid for a spot on this list.
